There’s something fascinating about movies that deal with memory lapses.Most of us(I believe) like things that are convoluted. The duality of both apathy and sympathy for such character is a surehit formula for the movie’s success.
Two movies(in fact four,one being a tri-series ) that I love watching repeatedly are the Bourne Series and Memento.
The lead character in both the movies suffers from memory loss(albeit) with different conditions. The Bourne Series ( which was one of the few movies better than the original book) was a commercial success owing to the amazing action,taut script and good performances.I regret that I didnt see a cult film like Memento till yesterday.Thanks to Ghajini’s PR machine that cranked it up.Amazing movie that truly thrills.
Though I started with the idea of posting a review of Memento,I don’t want to post a spoiler about such a brilliant movie.Go watch it.You could thank me later.
