And someone said "Let there be light…"

With a little over a month (exactly 34 days and 8hours as I write) left for this year’s Formula1 championship ,things are looking bright and look like they would take over from where they left last year(except for the within team rivalries and tech espionage). Is there anyone who dared to say that Kimi would be the World champion 2007 with just 3 races to go?I did and treated myself to a large cup of expresso.New Year…New races…New Rules & Regulations… So what can we look forward in this year’s championship?
1.First Grand Prix organized in the night.Yes a Formula 1 race in the dark!
Its on 28Sep 2008(already marked my Goog Calender with the F1 race calender). For a brief about the track, click here. An Italian firm by the name Valerio Maioli S.p.a has been assigned the task of designing the light system. An interview mentioning the details of the race can be found here.Like all the F1 fanatics,I would be singing “Come September” till then, though the song is not at all situational.
2.No Traction Control:This would mean the driver’s abilities and talent would be tested much more.
3.Bio Fuels: Going greener is always better. From this year on about 6%(thats the minimum) amount of the fuel should be bio.Talk about Adaptation…to give a brief about the fuel consumption by a F1 engine :
The engines produce over 100,000 BTU per minute (1,750 kW) of heat that must be dumped, usually to the atmosphere via radiators and the exhaust, which can reach temperatures over 1,000 degrees Celsius (1,800 to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit). They consume around 650 litres (23 ft³) of air per second. Race fuel consumption rate is normally around 75 litres per 100 kilometres travelled (3.1 US mpg – 3.8 UK mpg). Nonetheless a Formula One engine is over 20% more efficient at turning fuel into power than even the most economical small car(from Wiki).
4.Finally there’s an Indian F1 team called “Force India”.The team is co-owned by an Indian Dr.Vijay Mallya & Michiel Mol.They bought the last year’s Spyker team for 88 mil $.Though there were no great performances by the Spyker team last year, they deserve a Kudos for their interactive F1 team website.Their site is defunct now and contains a link to the Force India website . A cricket crazy nation like mine needs an alternative and its in able hands. All Indian F1 fans owe you one Dr. Mallya!
Dusting my Scarlet attire…
Go Kimi Go!

Ah just noticed that the title of the post “Let There Be light” is actually the closing line of a short story by Isaac Asimov -The Last Question
